It is also the time to reflect on the club year and assess how your club is doing. Here are some questions to consider:
1. Did we have fun this year? If not, it is time to do so - hold a few socials, play games, go out together and just have a good time!
2. Did we add any new members this year? If not, hold a recruiting event. It is important to always be asking people to join your club. Not sure how to do this - check out the SIA website - there are loads of ideas - videos, letters, and lots of resources to help you. This year SI/Eureka added 14 new members! President Dyann says it is easy - use the resources available to you - the SIA website was her "go-to" place.
3. Did you experience any civility issues? Is it no longer fun to go to your club meetings? Maybe it is time for a change. Perform a club assessment - have a open conversation with club members about what is working and what is not. Find a new service project to energize your club. The new "Dream It, Be It" program has a lot of potential to be the catalyst that brings new energy and impact into your club and community.
4. Have you adopted the "no guilt club" philosophy? It is simple - appreciate each and every member for any level of participation. Have everyone commit to participate the way it works best for them. This might mean giving up some of those projects or events that no one enjoys any more.
Contact your district director or your Region membership committee member for ideas. Have them visit your club and help you to assess the health of your club. Let's make this a year of change - our goal is to have healthy happy clubs and members that look forward to participating in Soroptimist! Use the resources available to you - every club has a copy of the Founder Region Roster - check out Founder Region's website at www.si-founderregion.org and the SIA website at www.soroptimist.org.
