Plan to attend district meetings and hear all the details about our wonderful clubs in Founder Region! The Call to District Meetings will be out soon. This is your opportunity to meet other Soroptimists in your district, and learn what is happening in the region and federation.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer - soon those of you whose clubs went "dark" for the summer will be back holding meetings again. I hope that you are all doing your part to make sure your club is healthy and happy - a place that everyone is welcome and we are not making people feel guilty for their level of participation. We are all volunteers, and we need to keep in mind that we are Soroptimists because we believe in our mission - we appreciate each other and we are tolerant of everyone's differences.
Attending the convention in Vancouver reminded me of what a diverse group we are - over 32,000 members from 20 countries and territories! Speaking of the number of countries and territories - added to the list is the Northern Mariana Islands - which is our newest club in District VI! Immediate Past Governor Dona was invited to carry in their flag at the opening ceremonies of the convention. Check out the photos on the Founder Region facebook page. More photos will be added as we begin to settle down and figure out how to download photos from our cameras! There also will be photos coming in a few weeks that we purchased from the Official Convention Photographer. Founder Region was there in force, and members of the Founder Region board were seen wearing their turquoise "Wave of Change" t-shirts as we arrived at the convention hall.
I'm looking forward to attending District Meetings and seeing you all as we share the JOY of Soroptimist!
